Job Title: 21st Century Grant Fund Site Coordinator

Pay Rate/Funding: *21st Century Grant – Community Learning Centers

*This position is contingent upon grant funds from the Texas Education Agency.  Florence ISD reserves the right to dissolve the position based on availability of funds.

 

Overview:  Florence ISD, in collaboration with ESC Region 13, has been awarded the 21st Century Learning Centers grant from the Texas Education Agency.  This grant provides funding for participating students to receive before and after school tutoring and academic enrichment learning opportunities. This position is a full-time position (217 Days). 

 

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor Degree, preferred
  • 24 college hours in education/youth issues, preferred and/or
  • Two years of experience in after-school programs

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Program Management

The coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the program’s activities, ensuring they align with the grant’s goals and objectives. 

 

Staff Supervision

They may hire, train, and supervise program staff, including teachers, tutors, and other support personnel. 

 

Budget Management

The coordinator may be responsible for managing the site’s budget, tracking expenditures, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. 

 

Communication and Collaboration

The coordinator will serve as a point of contact for communication between the program, school staff, parents, and community partners. 

 

Data Collection and Reporting

The coordinator collects and manages data related to student progress, attendance, and other program outcomes, and prepares reports for program directors, funders, and other stakeholders. 

 

Compliance

The coordinator will ensure that the program operates in accordance with the grant requirements, as well as district and state policies. 

 

Community Engagement

The coordinator may work to engage community partners and volunteers to support the program. 

 

Safety and Security

The coordinator will ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students and may be involved in developing emergency plans by following the district safety and emergency operations. 

 

Professional Development

The coordinator may participate in professional development activities to enhance their skills and knowledge related to program implementation. 

Skills/Knowledge

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Understanding of grant requirements, budget management, and educational best practices are needed.

 

Technology skills are needed for this position.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
