Job Description
Primary PurposeProvide first line supervision to officers in the field for an assigned unit, in addition to performing thefull range of duties of a police officer. Maintain and enforce municipal, county, and state ordinancesand laws as well as district policies, directives, and standards.Qualifications– Education/CertificationHigh school diploma or GEDTexas Peace Officer License issued by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), preferred Advanced or Masters ProficiencyClear and valid Texas driver’s license– Special Knowledge/SkillsGeneral knowledge of overall operations of a police departmentGeneral knowledge of criminal investigation, police report writing, and criminal lawsTraining and ability to subdue offenders, including use of firearms and handcuffsBondable as required by Texas Education Code §37.081(h)Ability to plan establish responsibilities and organize work of officers and other staffAbility to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug testsAbility to work well with youth and adultsExperience8 years experience as a fully commissioned police officer
