Job Description

*This is a part time position funded by Title I funds* 

 

Primary Purpose:

Provide  supplemental instructional support and academic interventions at the campus level for students designated as at-risk and identified for Title I, Part A services. All services must supplement, not replace, state/local instruction and must align to the Campus Improvement Plan (CIP) and Title I program requirements.

 

 

Education/Certification:

Some College Hours (required)

Bachelor’s degree from accredited university (preferred)

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned (preferred)

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Support in the development and implementation lesson plans that  provide supplemental acceleration, remediation, and intervention beyond Tier 1 core instruction in alignment with Title I allowable activities.

  • Participate in collection and analysis of formative and summative data  to document effectiveness of Title I interventions and required federal reporting.

  • Prepare lessons that re?ect accommodations for di?erences in student learning styles and abilities.

  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.

  • Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that re?ect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.

  • Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities  that remain supplemental in nature.

  • Work with other members of sta? to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements while ensuring supplemental intent under Title I.

  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.

  • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.

  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing specifically for monitoring Title I intervention progress.

  • Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.

  • Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

  • Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

  • Maintain e?ective and e?cient two-way communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers as related to Title I supplemental services.

  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
