185 Work Days Starting Salary: $50,000 with possible stipend.Primary PurposeProvide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. QualificationsEducation/CertificationBachelor’s degree from accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required SPED endorsementDemonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assignedSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of core academic subject assignedKnowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsRequirementsRegular attendance is an essential job function.ExperienceStudent teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
