Every child needs the support of their parent/guardian, school, and community to succeed. The Manor Independent School District Mentor Program creates opportunities for you to share your time, talents, and resources with our students.
As a Mentor, you will meet with the mentee for 30 minutes once a week during their lunchtime. This is a one-year commitment, with the possibility of an extension with the same student. The following are examples of the support you may provide a student during your time as a Mentor.
- Provide guidance: Mentors offer advice, feedback, and support to help mentees achieve their goals
- Hold mentees accountable: Mentors track progress to help mentees stay focused and motivated
- Be a role model: Mentors demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and ethical behaviors
- Share knowledge and experience: Mentors use their own experiences to help mentees improve
- Provide unbiased opinions: Mentors offer objective advice based on facts
