K-5 Specials Teacher (2024-2025)

Job Description

Lago Vista ISD is currently seeking a K-5 Specials Teacher to serve both our elementary and intermediate campuses teaching our Viking Success (Positive Character Traits & Personal Skills) as part of our K-5 Specials rotation. Lago Vista Elementary School is a PK-3rd grade campus of approximately 520 students, and Lago Vista Intermediate School is a 4-5th grade campus with approximately 250 students. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; Appropriate Texas Teacher’s Certificate – Generalist or Core Subjects (EC-6) Salary: See the Lago Vista ISD Teacher Salary Schedule Generous Benefits: TRS Active-Care — The District pays $445 a month toward the employee health insurance premiums; Vision and Dental offered; Cafeteria Plan available. Major Responsibilities & Duties: Provide classroom instruction to students in grades K-5 in Positive Character Traits & Personal Skills TEKS and related strands from the Health TEKS and Technology Applications TEKS; Support classroom instruction based on TEKS in the areas listed above; Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to understand student needs, identify appropriate interventions, and modify curriculum for students, as needed; Gather and analyze data to monitor student progress towards goals; Meet with parents, counselors, and agency representatives, as needed; Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with research and best practices to be implemented in the classroom; Establish and maintain rules, conduct, and discipline consistent with District policies and procedures in order to foster an environment that is conducive to learning; Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures; and Other duties as assigned.
