Position OverviewThe Director of Communications & Community Partnerships leads the district’s communications, engagement, and partnership efforts. This role shapes how the district communicates with families and the community, strengthens public trust, and builds relationships that expand opportunities for students.This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position that blends strategic thinking with daily execution. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, relationship builder, and communicator who thrives in a mission-driven environment. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications & StorytellingLead district communications across internal and external platformsDevelop clear, consistent messaging that highlights student success and district prioritiesManage district website, social media, and digital communicationsSupport communication around district initiatives and community prioritiesCommunity Engagement & Trust BuildingStrengthen relationships with families, staff, and community stakeholdersSupport transparent, timely communication that builds trust and confidenceRepresent the district in community-facing communication effortsPartnership DevelopmentBuild relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and higher education partnersSupport student opportunities such as internships, mentorships, and workforce experiencesConnect community resources to student learning and future readinessMarketing & AwarenessSupport awareness of district programs and innovative learning opportunitiesPromote district strengths, achievements, and student pathwaysAssist in communication of new initiatives, including virtual learning opportunitiesCrisis & Responsive CommunicationSupport timely and accurate communication during urgent or sensitive situationsCollaborate with district leadership to ensure clear and consistent messaging QualificationsBachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, education, or related field requiredExperience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields preferredStrong writing, storytelling, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience managing digital communication platforms (social media, websites, content creation)Ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groupsExperience in public education or community engagement preferred Why This Role MattersThis position plays a key role in shaping how our community experiences and understands Lago Vista ISD.
