Primary Purpose: Direct and manage the instructional program and supervise operations at the campus level. Provide instructional leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service. Direct the implementation of district policies and instructional programs. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master’s degree in Education Valid Texas principal certificate, required Valid T-TESS appraiser certification, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills: Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction Proficiency in instructional technology, particularly online adaptive courseware Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness based upon student data Knowledge of hybrid education and best practices for student success in hybrid coursework Ability to implement alternative school regulations and operations, including the Texas Optional Flexible School Day Program Thorough understanding of Texas requirements for special programs, including Special Education, Section 504, and Emergent Bilingual. Ability to coordinate campus operations and functions Ability to manage budget and personnel based upon data interpretation Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills Experience: Two (2) years of leadership experience at secondary grade levels, required; experience with discipline duties preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties: Quest High School Administration Monitor instructional processes to ensure that program activities are related to outcomes and use findings to take corrective actions where necessary. Manage the application, implementation, and record-keeping for the Optional Flexible School Day Program. Remain current on Alternative Education campus requirements for State accountability. Provide instructional resources and materials needed to accomplish instructional goals, which includes timely student graduation on the Foundation High School Program. Establish clear expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public. Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their active involvement in decision-making process. Solicit regular input from stakeholders regarding planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of campus education program. Direct planning activities and implement programs to ensure attainment of campus goals. Work with staff and students to develop and consistently implement student discipline procedures in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct resulting in positive behavior and school climate. Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers. Develop and administer campus budgets based on documented program needs and estimated enrollment ensuring that operations are cost effective and funds are managed wisely. Manage use of school facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus. Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal. Approve all personnel assigned to campus. Coach staff and help them identify and develop appropriate professional growth opportunities as well as accomplish improvement goals. Other Duties Demonstrate awareness of school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. Comply with district policies, state and federal laws, and regulations affecting schools. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
