Human Resources Specialist- Certification and Human Resources Information Systems

Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Receive process and maintain files and records for applicants and employees of the district. Monitor access to Human Resources records and maintain proper security and confidentiality. Input, maintain, audit and process sensitive Human Resource Information System (HRIS) data. Act as technology office liaison for HRIS. Verify and monitor certification status of applicants and employees. Manage the various certification routes afforded to educators.

 

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or GED;.
  • Must successfully pass MISD para test or
  • 48 hours college credit (bachelor’s degree preferred)

Experience:

2 years administrative/human resources/data input experience. Preferably in a public education environment.

Experience with Skyward, TalentEd and SBEC systems preferred.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Confirm district compliance with state and licensing requirements.
  • Track certification, testing and permit status and follow-up with employees to ensure completion of certification requirements within established timelines.
  • Process SBEC permit applications and monitor permit status.
  • Work with Human Resources administration to manage certification programs.
  • Maintain HR information database to ensure that employee information is accurate, current and reliable.
  • Enter, update and maintain accurate position data to include assignments, reassignments, salary changes and separations.
  • Act as a resource and guide for supervisors as it relates to HR data and positions.
  • Ensure the highest level of accuracy for data entered into HR data systems to ensure successful data audits.
  • Audit data entry in HRIS on a regular basis to review data accuracy and compliance.
  • Provides data support for HR staff, all associate end-users and members of senior management.
  • Creates standard or ad-hoc reports to ensure compliance with local, state and federal reporting guidelines.
  • Track, maintain and run reports using current and historical data.
  • Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various federal, state and local reports.
  • Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents as required.
  • Maintain files for all employees including receiving and routing of changes (e.g., name, address changes).
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, records and reports as directed using personal computer.
  • Assist, prepare and maintain certification records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Learn and provide professional development on HRIS management systems to district staff.
  • Demonstrates principles of the Manor ISD People Experience.
