This posting is for the 2025-2026 school year. Primary Purpose: Facilitate districtwide support of the Emergent Bilingual (EB) and Gifted and Talented (GT) programs. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate Valid Bilingual or ESL certification Completion of the 30-hour GT Foundations Special Knowledge/Skills: Fluency in the Spanish language preferred Knowledge and experience implementing best practices in curriculum and instruction Knowledge of large-scale assessment administration General knowledge of school operations Ability to complete detailed documentation with accuracy Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution Experience with data analysis and interpretation for the purpose of program evaluation Ability to work well and in a positive manner with staff, students, and public Excellent organizational, communication, time management, and interpersonal skills Experience: Classroom teaching experience required, with leadership experience preferred. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Emergent Bilingual (EB) Program Support Organize and/or administer student language assessments for EB program qualification. Remain current on State requirements for LPAC procedures, facilitate campus training, and support campus LPAC administrators. Provide training and support to campus staff to ensure EB student accommodations are appropriately communicated and implemented. Utilize achievement data, including TELPAS and STAAR, to identify areas of strength and need for EB student support. Assist in the evaluation and selection of instructional materials used with EB students. Provide or secure formal training and point-of-need support to teachers related to differentiation for EB students in the general education classroom. Attend campus staff meetings when appropriate to assist in the development and/or implementation of assessment plans or student group scheduling. Attend regional and/or state trainings to ensure that EB programming is state-compliant and includes effective practices. Complete and maintain required documentation for federal and/or state compliance related to EB programs. Gifted and Talented Program Support Lead and organize student screening and testing for K-12 GT identification, including implementation of a Universal Screener. Maintain support and communication for families of students during and after the GT referral process. Partner with the elementary GT Teacher to enhance the vertical program and ensure alignment. Utilize data to identify students who are candidates for GT evaluation, and shepherd the referral and evaluation process. Provide or secure formal training and point-of-need support to teachers related to differentiation for GT students in the general education classroom. Relate to others in ways that convey equality and mutual respect. Actively seek and use evaluative feedback from campus and central office staff in order to improve job performance. Engage in professional growth opportunities to gain an awareness of current “best practices”, technological applications, and strategies that accelerate student achievement. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated work site on regular daily basis according to a work schedule with irregular hours.
