Primary Purpose:
Manor ISD is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Coordinator of Teacher Training and Professional Development to lead transformative PK–12 professional learning experiences that empower educators across all content areas. This role is rooted in deep knowledge of instructional best practices—including classroom management, curriculum implementation, assessment literacy, cognitive science, and legal compliance in SPED, Bilingual, and ESL education. The ideal candidate will also bring expertise in STEM education, robotics, and the latest advancements in AI and educational technology, helping teachers integrate cutting-edge tools and strategies into the classroom. This position plays a vital role in building instructional capacity, driving student achievement, and preparing educators to thrive in a future-ready learning environment.
Qualifications/Certifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s degree in education-related field (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certification (required)
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of successful PK–12 classroom teaching experience
- Experience designing and delivering professional development or instructional coaching (required)
- Knowledge of SPED, Bilingual/ESL compliance requirements and laws (preferred)
- Familiarity with AI tools and emerging edtech (preferred)
- Robotics and STEM education expertise (preferred)

Essential Job Functions:
- Professional Development Leadership:
- Design, coordinate, and deliver ongoing professional development aligned with district instructional priorities, state mandates, and national research.
- Provide targeted support in areas such as classroom management, culturally responsive teaching, assessment strategies, and curriculum implementation.
- Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) and instructional coaching aligned to school and district goals.
- Curriculum & Instructional Support:
- Collaborate with curriculum teams to ensure training aligns with instructional materials and best practices for lesson internalization and delivery.
- Model and support lesson planning, lesson internalization, and effective instructional routines across grade levels and content areas.
- Compliance & Equity:
- Provide training to ensure teacher understanding and adherence to laws and policies related to Special Education (SPED), Bilingual, and English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction.
- Promote inclusive instructional practices and support equitable learning environments for all students.
- Assessment Literacy:
- Equip teachers with strategies to design, interpret, and use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and monitor student learning.
- Support campuses in implementing data-driven instructional cycles.
- Learning Science & Brain Research:
- Integrate findings from research on learning and brain development into professional learning opportunities, with a focus on student engagement, memory, and retention.
- Provide training on how to create developmentally appropriate and cognitively effective learning environments for diverse age groups PK–12.
- STEM & Robotics Integration:
- Train and collaborate with teachers and instructional coaches to embed robotics, coding, and hands-on problem-solving strategies into classroom practice.
- Support the expansion of STEM and robotics programming across grade levels, including extracurricular and enrichment opportunities.
- Instructional Innovation with AI & EdTech
- Train educators on the responsible and effective use of AI applications and educational technology to enhance instruction, personalize learning, and increase efficiency.
- Stay current with trends in AI for education and provide insight on integrating new tools into teaching practices.
- Collaboration & Capacity Building:
- Partner with instructional coaches, administrators, and master teachers to build a cohesive professional learning system.
- Support teacher induction, mentoring, and leadership development across the district.
- Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
- Collect and analyze feedback and data on training effectiveness and instructional impact.
- Continuously refine professional learning plans based on teacher needs and student outcomes.
