Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Provide support for both internal and external multimedia needs of the district and campuses with a focus on video content, graphic design, photography, and district publications. Assist department with marketing materials for district initiatives, special events, and social media.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital journalism, radio-television-film or related discipline preferred 

Experience:

Three to five years of professional video production and graphic design experience preferred

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong writing, editing and research skills
  • Proven experience in video and graphic design productions; examples of projects required for interview
  • Script writing and storyboarding skills
  • Strong knowledge of digital photography
  • Working knowledge and experience with various computer programs including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience setting up and operating a live stream on various platforms
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work within a team
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, including the general public 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Produce and disseminate multimedia content for publicity, including district newsletters, custom graphics and videos
  • Take photographs for district publications, presentations, and displays
  • Participate in event planning and community activities that are the responsibility of the Communications Department and Superintendent’s Office
  • Create and repurpose content for various platforms
  • Implement and support district-level videography efforts from conception to completion, including all necessary scripting, filming, content and overall creative design
  • Available via telephone or email during an emergency.
  • Work flexible hours; evening and/or weekend work required

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Equipment Used

Computer; digital camera; video camera; copier; and scanner.

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; ability to carry 25 lbs in some cases; prolonged use of computer; travel district wide frequently; and work occasional prolonged and irregular hours.  There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress.  Predictable and regular attendance expected.
