Primary Role:
This position is for Athletic Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
- Experience with coaching and/or athletics preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Athletic Coordinator will schedule athletic events throughout the school year
- Maintain the athletic events calendar on the NYOS athletics webpage
- Facilitate coaches’ meetings to provide updates related to schedules, policies, and expectations
- Monitor athletic fee payments and regularly review the athletic budget
- Utilize efficient record keeping procedures
- Communicate and confer effectively both orally and in written form with students, parents, colleagues, and administration
- Meet professional criteria and obligations
- Enforce NYOS Charter School rules and policies
- Actively participate in a variety of meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and to improve student achievement.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic, accept responsibility, and the ability to be self-motivated
- Exemplify through manner, words, and dress the high standards and expected behavior of the school
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Professional Requirements:
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding information concerning students, parents, staff, and classroom incidents
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards and model behavior that is professional and responsible
- Participate in approved professional development to improve skills related to job assignment
- Follow NYOS standard procedures for communication, interaction, and discipline as outlined in the NYOS Staff Handbook
Essential Functions
Physical abilities include but are not limited to being able to communicate information clearly as well as the ability to see objects at a close range and at a distance, in order to establish and maintain safe and effective working relationships with staff and students.
