Job Title: Coordinator of College, Career & Student Success 

Reports to: Principal

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt/Professional

Primary Purpose: 

Provide leadership and coordination for Career and Technical Education (CTE), career advising, internship development, dropout prevention, attendance improvement, and Section 504 services. This position is responsible for expanding high-quality CTE opportunities, strengthening partnerships with business and industry, increasing student engagement, and supporting systems that ensure students remain on track for graduation and postsecondary success. 

 

Qualifications: 

Education/Certification 

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred 

Valid Texas teaching certificate; administrative certification preferred 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills 

Knowledge of CCMR indicators and workforce alignment 

Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills 

Ability to build partnerships with business and community stakeholders 

 

Experience 

Experience in CTE, counseling, or student support services preferred  

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties: 

CTE Program Leadership 

  • Coordinate and support district-wide Career and Technical Education programs 

  • Work with campus and district leadership to expand CTE pathways aligned to workforce needs 

  • Monitor enrollment, completion, and performance data for CTE programs 

  • Support teachers with program development, certifications, and industry-based credentials 

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal CTE requirements 

  • Assist with budgeting, equipment planning, and grant opportunities related to CTE 

Career Advising & Postsecondary Readiness 

  • Provide career exploration and advising support for students 

  • Coordinate career awareness activities, career fairs, and guest speakers 

  • Support the development of individualized student career plans 

  • Collaborate with counselors on CCMR readiness initiatives 

  • Promote industry-based certifications and work-based learning opportunities 

Internships & Community Partnerships 

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local businesses and industry 

  • Create and expand internship, job shadowing, and work-based learning opportunities 

  • Coordinate student placement, monitoring, and evaluation of internships 

  • Work with employers to align opportunities with student career pathways 

  • Promote community involvement in CTE advisory committees 

Dropout Prevention & Student Engagement 

  • Monitor early warning indicators for at-risk students 

  • Coordinate interventions to improve student engagement and graduation outcomes 

  • Collaborate with campus staff to support credit recovery and alternative pathways 

  • Support transition planning for students at risk of dropping out 

Attendance & Truancy Support 

  • Monitor attendance data and identify trends 

  • Coordinate attendance improvement initiatives 

  • Work with campus administration on truancy prevention strategies 

  • Communicate with families to improve student attendance 

  • Support compliance with attendance laws and documentation 

Section 504 Coordination 

  • Coordinate and facilitate Section 504 meetings 

  • Ensure compliance with Section 504 regulations and documentation requirements 

  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement accommodations 

  • Maintain records and timelines for 504 services 

  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding 504 supports 

Additional Duties 

  • Serve as liaison between school, families, and community partners 

  • Assist with grant writing and reporting related to CTE and student success 

  • Provide professional development for staff related to career readiness and student engagement 

  • Perform other duties as assigned
