Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Provide on-site technical support to students and staff by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting district technology systems, including computers, mobile devices, peripherals, classroom technology, and basic network connectivity. Ensure timely resolution of work orders to minimize instructional disruption and support district instructional and operational goals.
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Working knowledge of device setup and support across macOS, iPadOS, Windows, and ChromeOS
- Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and common educational software
Experience:
One (1) year of experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and basic network connectivity
OR
Associate’s degree from an accredited trade school or college in a technology-related field
Essential Job Functions:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot district-owned computer hardware, mobile devices, and operating systems.
- Provide on-site technical support for classrooms, offices, labs, and instructional spaces to minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
- Install, configure, and support district-approved software and device images.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of wired and wireless network connectivity, including end-user Wi-Fi access issues.
- Diagnose and repair equipment, including printers, copiers, projectors, interactive displays, and district-owned computing devices.
- Relocate, deploy, and decommission computer equipment, peripherals, and classroom technology as needed.
- Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data and communications equipment under the direction of senior technical staff.
- Maintain accurate accountability of district technology assets using the district inventory and asset management systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with established schedules and document completed work.
- Accurately record work order activity, time, materials, and resolution notes in the district ticketing system.
- Operate tools and equipment in compliance with prescribed safety procedures.
- Follow established safety practices when lifting, climbing, carrying, or working around electrical and network equipment.
- Identify, correct when possible, and promptly report unsafe working conditions to a supervisor.
- Respond to after-hours or emergency support requests as directed by a supervisor.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with assigned work schedules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
