Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE Assist the Director with the district’s transportation and vehicle maintenance program for all district-owned vehicles to ensure a safe, efficient and effective transportation system that will enable students the opportunity to participate in a complete range of activities. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Texas Department of Public Safety School Bus Driver Safety Certification Professionally Certified as TAPT “Pupil Transportation Official” (Preferred) Hold or obtain a CDL, class B minimum with “P” & “S” Endorsements Ability to pass annual State of Texas School Bus Driver Physical Must pass ALL Federal DOT Drug and Alcohol Tests Must have Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) in line with requirements for Texas School Bus Drivers A Ability to pass a criminal history background check Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to supervise all aspects of student transportation operations and fleet maintenance Working knowledge in the selection, training and supervision of transportation and vehicle maintenance personnel Ability to exercise judgment in decision making, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Experience: 3+ years (Preferred) of supervisory experience in school district transportation operations
